Speed Debating

The objective of the Speed Debate competition is to hone the participants' ability to present and defend their viewpoints in a concise and time-bound manner, enhancing their quick thinking and persuasive speaking.
Event Rules
1. This is an individual event. 2. The use of the Queen's English is encouraged. 3. Each debater is allocated 2 minutes to present their arguments and 7 minutes for their rebuttals. 4. Topics are provided to the participants just before each clash. 5. A brief preparation time will be afforded to the participants. 6. No vulgarity or obscene language is permitted. 7. Cross-examination by the opponent team is strictly prohibited. 8. A buzzer will signal the conclusion of the first minute and one minute before the final minute. 9. Multiple entries per college are allowed. 10. The judges' decision is final and binding.
